Laboratory Renovation

University of Rochester

Through another design build effort, the University of Rochester Department of Chemistry sought to renovate the Paradine & Kennedy Labs that reside on the 4th floor of Hutchison Hall. In conjunction to each other, The Paradine group develops chemical reactions to make topologically complex organic molecules, and the Kennedy group is directed toward the development of new and sustainable strategies for catalysis utilized in Dr. Paradine’s research. The space includes 8 appropriately sized fume hoods, a solvent system and various lab services with adjustable and fixed casework per the doctor’s preferences. To accommodate 11 students involved in the doctors’ research a student office space with new finishes and workstations has been provided adjacent to the wet laboratory.
